Extinction Day 1 & 2

 

Catnip's actions during day 1 of extinction were not as I was expecting. I thought that she would try to respond more so than she did. I noticed an extinction burst within the first 5 to 10 minutes of the session. She responded 99 times within the first 5 minutes, took a break for two minutes, then began to push the lever very hard and fast until around the 10 minute mark. Halfway through the session she stopped completely and just sat there and stared at me. On day 2 of extinction, she responded the way I thought she would. She did have spontaneous recovery on session 2. She was still slightly responding even though she was not being rewarded. She was slightly more aggressive in her pushing and in trying to bite the lever. She stopped around halfway through the session and groomed, then she went on to barely responding until the very end.
